O Jesus, who wanted to establish your presence of love and peace among us, we thank you and adore you. You who “came into the world to proclaim peace and to unite peoples, breaking down the walls of division and enmity”, make us become peacemakers.

Give us the strength and perseverance to do our part generously to offer justice and charity to all, and so begin a better world where your peace reigns.

Grant us not to remain passive in the face of the evils and injustices that we see: make us humble and strong, consistent and active to overcome evil with goodness and love.

Remove, o Lord, from all peoples the scourges of war and hunger, and grant us and all men that peace which the world cannot give.

For you alone are “our peace”, for your death on the cross, you have destroyed all injustice and reconciled mankind with God.

May the Queen of Peace preserve the world from the madness of war.  “Keep the flame of hope burning in us so that, with patient perseverance, we may make choices of dialogue and reconciliation, so that peace may win at the end” (Pope Francis).  Lord God of peace, hear our plea! Amen.
