We ask you, Lord, the most precious:
that we do not believe ourselves more important,
and have a place in our hearts
for our brothers and for you.

We ask you, Lord, the most decisive:
that we do not put ourselves
in the center of our heart;
that we know how to look for you in the brothers.

We ask you not to be full
of ourselves, nor that our ideals and projects prevent us
from recognizing the faces of our brother
that we know how to listen to his calls.

God and our Father, we praise you through Jesus, who lived
simple and humble of heart,
because you hid your salvation from the wise
and you revealed it to the simple;

Give us, Lord, the pleasure of being brothers to all,
the pleasure of living a shared life,
that we know how to freely give what we have freely received.

Give us the ability to see the hidden wealth of people
who lives next to us, and the poverty to give without expecting anything in return.

That, free of ambitions, we embrace the world
and simply surrender to the entrusted task
following you on the paths of good and
announcing your Gospel of Love.
