God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, we thank you:
For having chosen José Freinademetz in following your Son, the Divine Word, in the mission of proclaiming the Gospel among the men and women of China.

For the gift of your Spirit that has filled him with love, and has prompted him to consecrate himself totally to your reign by becoming Chinese among the Chinese.

For the missionary testimony of Joseph as a simple, humble and selfless man.

God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, grant us:
the missionary love of Joseph, to go out to meet those who do not know the Good News of Jesus,

the ardor of Joseph, so that the Word of God may embrace all humankind,

the hope of Joseph, to build communion and fraternity with different people in the same Spirit,

the availability of Joseph, to imitate the model of total dedication of Jesus to the poorest and most needy,

the deep desire of Joseph, so that “love becomes the only language understood by all people.”
