Dear God,
one day you presented your Son at the Jordan River to be baptized,
we thank you because one day you also led us to the baptismal font to receive the water of Life.
That day, you made us your children and heirs to your Kingdom.
That day, you welcomed us as members of the Church, who is both our home and our school of life.
That day, you gave us the great family of all our Christian brothers and sisters.
That day, you taught us to pronounce words like father, brother, life, light, grace, love, forgiveness with deeper meaning.
That day, you erased our sins and you invited us to always be good.
That day, you also gained a new child: you gave me permission to call you “Father!” How beautiful it is to pronounce this name, Father!
That day you gave us the best of gifts: the grace of Jesus Christ, your beloved Son, and my older brother.
That day you entrusted to me the light of your Spirit to bring light into my life so that I need not walk in darkness.
Thank you, Father, thank you, Jesus Christ, thank you Holy Spirit because one day I was baptized in your name. Amen.
