This In Memoriam describes the life of Fr. Juan Schutte until the assumption of the SVD General Directorate in 1958.
As part of his biography, he describes his family life from Essen to Shantung, Honan-North, in his position as Superior General, his stay in China and his expulsion. He highlights his capacity for study and intellectual learning from a young age and that he is a contribution to the missiological reflection of the congregation and the church.
The story is combined with texts from letters from Fr. Juan. In addition, and at the end of the book, a chronological table is attached on the activities that this priest developed in the mission and position of him in the Society of the Divine Word.
A travel and conference list is described that demonstrates the fruitful missionary life of this SVD Sixth Superior General.
