This material about our Founder is a compilation of articles, most of which were originally published in German in Verbum and Nova et Vetera. In 1988 the selection was made, and the articles were translated into Spanish (Analecta SVD 63 IT). Later Father Reuter published a selected number of these articles in the German original in Analecta SVD 63 III. The present volume is a translation of that book, with a few additional commentaries.

There are articles about the life and person of Father Arnold, our spirituality, devotions and qualities of a missionary. The editor summarizes an account of the work of Arnold Janssen in the last section.

Historical material and the reflections might inspire a present generation in its reflection on the spiritual heritage of our Founder and what it means for us today.

    I am a member of the Divine Word and I come from the Divine Word province in Vietnam.
    I have read the book “Arnold Janssen. Yesterday and Today” (pdf). and I am impressed by this book.
    I think this book will help many young religious, so I want to translate this book into Vietnamese so that the religious in my province can understand more and love our founder more.
    If I translate it into a Vietnamese version and only use it internally in the communities of the Divine Word in Vietnam, especially the training communities, do I need to ask for permission from the author or publisher?
